I add ice to the water and limes in the beginning to help it be extra cold. I also cut the peel off at least half of the limes to cut down on the bitterness of the peel. Make sure you rinse the blender & lid well before adding it back in with the sweetened condensed milk.
Bonus tip: if you want to do flavors, add the fresh fruit with the limes before you strain it. Or add any flavored syrups when you add the sweetened condensed milk in.
