This is our favorite waffle recipe. I mix the batter in a little bit of a different order because adding the melted butter too early will cause the butter to harden and it won't incorporate properly. **Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Then in a liquid measure add the buttermilk (can sub reg milk), eggs and vanilla - mix those well. Next, add the milk, egg, vanilla mixture to the dry ingredients. After they are mixed, I melt the butter in the now empty liquid measuring container. I then slowly incorporate the melted butter. This way the butter will mix in properly and easily. I never need to butter the waffle iron since the batter has enough butter. They are perfect everytime.
