Very disappointing recipe. The batter was incredibly thick and goopy. It was also way too sweet, like an ice cream cone waffle. The outside texture was delicious and crisp but the inside didn't seem to fully cook.

It says in the instructions that it is supposed to be a sticky batter. It helps a lot if you use a stand or hand mixer. It is very sweet, but that's how I like these kinds of waffles. You're basically making a sugary crust on the whole waffle with the pearl sugar, so it's going to be pretty sweet.
