This recipe was tasty, but I don’t think I’ll end up making it again. The recipe is quite time consuming and I don’t think the outcome was worth the effort.
I was hoping the flavor would have more depth considering all the different components, but it ended up tasting similar to spicy teriyaki—a dominant soy sauce flavor with some added sweetness and spice. It may help to increase the amount of other seasonings (ginger, etc.) to add an additional layer to the flavors.
