Please be patient with this dish, take your time. Prepare what you can ahead of time and let those flavors develop in the fridge over night. To do this correctly, the longer things marinade, steep, simmer, the better. (within reason). Straining the liquid off multiple times produces a smoother broth. And letting the broth sit overnight and straining it again produces a clearer broth. Always taste and adjust to fine tune the recipe. Add or take away any topping you want, this is your adventure!
