Ingredients: ¼ cup sugar (60 ml); ¼ cup water (60 ml); 2 cup orange juice, freshly squeezed or store-bought (500 ml); Juice of 3 limes; ¼ cup fresh mint leaves, chopped (60 ml); 1 cup carbonated water (250 ml); Ice, for filling glasses; 12 fresh mint leaves, for garnish; 4 orange slices, for garnish

Instructions

The traditional Kentucky mint julep served at the Kentucky Derby is fresh mint muddled with sugar, bourbon with lots of ice. But a “julep” can be a sweet drink with any variety of liquor, water, sugar and sometime mint. This julep is a non-alcoholic drink but you could boose it up with rum, vodka or bourbon.
