Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl and set it aside.

Use an electric mixer or mix by hand to beat the butter and sugar until it’s fluffy.

Add eggs, almond extract, and vanilla to the butter mixture, beat until it’s light and fluffy.

Slowly add and mix in the dry ingredients until a dough forms.

Shape the dough into balls and place them on the baking sheets, gently flatten.

Bake for 8-10 minutes.

While the cookies cool on a wire rack, make the almond icing.

Beat together the softened butter until light and fluffy.

Slowly add in the powder sugar 1/2 cup at a time until incorporated.

Add in the almond extract, vanilla extract, and heavy cream.

Add the frosting to a piping bag, and swirl the frosting on each cookie.

Sprinkle on sprinkles if desired and enjoy!
