Ingredients
2 servings

4 cupsice
shaved, or crushed ice
¼ cuppandan jelly
cubed

¼ cupstrawberry popping boba
optional

¼ cupcanned jackfruit
sliced
¼ cupcoconut in syrup
young, stripped, or Nata de coco
¼ cupsweetened bananas
sliced
¼ cupred mung beans
sweetened
½ cupleche flan

½ cupevaporated milk
¼ cupube ice cream
or any other flavor you prefer

1 Tbsprice puffs
or toasted young rice, for crunch
Instructions
Step 1
Shave or crush ice and place it in a large bowl.
Step 2
If you want to try the ice cream lifting trick I demonstrated in the video, put a large piece of ice cream in the center of the ice. Then, take a disposable plastic cup and cut off the bottom. Insert the bottom edge of the cup into the top of the ice cream to prevent any liquid from leaking later. (Skipping the ice cream and inserting the cup directly into the shaved ice will cause the liquid in the cup to seep into the ice, making it melt faster and preventing a smooth lift.) This step is optional, so feel free to simply arrange the halo-halo ingredients directly on the ice if you prefer.
Step 3
In the plastic cup you inserted, begin layering the ingredients in your preferred order. Alternatively, you can simply scatter all the ingredients over the ice, as everything will be mixed together soon anyway.
Step 4
Lift the plastic cup to let all the ingredients ooze out, savoring the moment. Mix everything together to fully enjoy the flavors of your halo-halo, and dig in quickly before the ice melts!
