An all-purpose basic pie crust which perfectly supports Imitation Crab Quiche. The recipe comes from the Appalachian region from the early 20th century.

Instructions

Step 1
1. Combine flour, sugar and salt. 2. Add shortening and mix in until crumbly 3. Mix vinegar and egg together and add to above dough. 4. Add cold water and lightly combine pastry dough. 5. Divide dought into 4 equal parts (makes 4 pies).* 6. Roll dough into flat circle and place in pie tin. NOTE: *If only making one pie, freeze each of the 3 other balls of dough for later use.
