Step 1
Sift together the dry ingredients.
Step 2
Beat the egg in a separate bowl. Add the beer to the egg.
Step 3
Add the egg and beer mixture to the dry ingredients; mix until smooth.
Step 4
Peel the onions and cut into 1/2 inch thick slices.
Step 5
Break the slices into rings and dredge in the flour.
Step 6
Dip the rings in the batter a few at a time. Using the swimming method, deep-fry at 375 degrees until golden brown.
Step 7
Drain on absorbent paper, season with salt and white pepper. Serve hot.
