Instructions

Step 1
Begin by slicing the whole-grain sub or baguette roll in half, lengthwise.
Step 2
If desired, spread a thin layer of mayonnaise or mustard on the inside of the roll to add some extra flavor.

Place the lettuce leaves on the bottom half of the roll.
Step 4
Layer the turkey slices on top of the lettuce.

Add cucumber slices and tomato slices on top of the turkey.

If your child enjoys cheese, place a slice or two on the top half of the roll.

Season the sandwich with a pinch of salt and pepper, if desired.

Place the top half of the rollover the fillings to complete the sandwich.

Optionally, you can secure the sandwich with a toothpick or wrap it in parchment paper to prevent it from falling apart.
