Instructions

Step 1
Mix cinnamon, sugar, and any other spices you wish (nutmeg, clove, etc.)

Slice apples horizontally, about 1-2mm thick. The slices are thin enough that you do not need to core the apples, but you should remove seeds from slices.

Sprinkle a thin layer of your cinnamon sugar mixture in the bottom of the frozen pie crust

Step 4
Dip apple slices in lemon juice, tap of the excess liquid, and place in a concentric circle to make a single layer in the crust.

Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture, then lay another layer of apple slices. Repeat until the crust is full. Sprinkle a final layer of cinnamon sugar on top.

Step 6
Place in the oven on a cookie sheet and bake at 325° until crust is brown and apples/cinnamon are bubbly and caramelized. Note: Baking faster at a higher temperature causes the bottom of the crust to not finish baking. (RIP Thanksgiving 2023 pie)

Cool and serve
