Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 F and grease a 9 X 13 baking dish. Combine sugar and flour in large bowl. In a saucepan bring butter, cocoa, and Dr Pepper to a boil. Pour the hot mixture over the sugar and flour combination and mix well. Add the buttermilk, beaten eggs, baking soda, and vanilla then blend well. Bake in the prepared pan for 40 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. While the cake cools, prepare the frosting by blending cream cheese and powdered sugar. Add vanilla and then spread evenly over cooled cake.
