Instructions

Step 1
In a bowl add water. yeast and sugar. Mix well and let sit for 5 minutes or until yeast is frothy.
Step 2
Add oil, salt and flour. Mix well and knead 5 minutes. In a greased bowl let the dough rise for an hour or until its doubled in size.
Step 3
Once the dough is doubled split dough up into how many pretzels you want (6 large). You can stuff the cheese how you like, roll dough out like a log flatten down add cheese (grated or sticks), pinch all the way around to enclose dough around the cheese. Shape like a pretzel.
Step 4
Heat up water in pot, add baking soda. Put pretzels into the hot water, 20-30 seconds. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper. Brush the tops with egg wash. Optional: add grated cheese on top or sesame seeds.
Step 5
Bake at 425 for 10 minutes. Brush the tops with garlic butter (or just plain butter).
