Instructions
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Step 2
Melt butter in the skillet over medium heat.
Step 3
Sprinkle brown sugar over the melted butter and cook until bubbling, then remove from heat.
Step 4
Arrange pineapple slices and cherries over the sugar mixture.
Step 5
Prepare cake batter according to box instructions, using reserved pineapple juice as part of the liquid.
Step 6
Pour batter over the fruit layer and bake for 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Step 7
Let the cake cool in the skillet for 10 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.
