Instructions

Step 1
Melt the chocolate: Place the chocolate chips and 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-30 second intervals, stirring each time, until smooth. Let the mixture cool to room temperature (it should be thick but still smooth).
Step 2
Whip the cream: In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup heavy whipping cream with a hand mixer until stiff peaks form.
Step 3
Fold everything together: Gently fold the Cool Whip into the freshly whipped cream until combined. Slowly fold in the cooled chocolate mixture. Mix gently so you don’t deflate the mousse.
Step 4
Chill: Spoon into serving dishes. Refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours until set.
