Air Fryer Pork Schnitzel

7 steps
Prep:5minCook:25min
Crispy, golden breaded pork chops that are tender in the middle and satisfyingly crunchy on the outside. Traditionally pan-fried, I’ve given this comfort food classic an air fryer twist, meaning less oil, less mess, and still all the flavour. It’s the perfect dish when you want something hearty, nostalgic, and seriously delicious – with a lighter touch. Serve it up with mash, pickles, or a tangy slaw and prepare for clean plates all round!

Instructions

Step 1
Place the pork chops between two sheets of baking paper or cling film and pound with a meat mallet or rolling pin until about 1 cm thick. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper
Step 2
In one bowl, add the flour. In a second bowl, beat the egg. In a third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with garlic powder and paprika if using
Step 3
Pop each pork chop in flour (shake off the excess), dip into the egg, then coat thoroughly in the breadcrumbs. Press the breadcrumbs in so they stick well
Step 4
Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (390°F) for 2–3 minutes
Step 5
Lightly spray both sides of the breaded pork chops with oil spray. Place them in the basket in a single layer (cook in batches if needed).
Step 6
Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and the pork is fully cooked (internal temp should reach 63°C/145°F)
Step 7
Serve hot with mashed potatoes and a side of cabbage slaw (Sauerkraut) for the full Polish experience
