Instructions

Step 1
Rub together the flour, baking powder, salt, butter, lard, and caster sugar.
Step 2
Add currants and mix
Step 3
Beat egg and mix into dry ingredients
Step 4
Add enough milk to make into a dough
Step 5
Roll out to 1/4" thick and cut into rounds with a cutter
Step 6
Grease griddle pan and heat on a medium heat
Step 7
Sprinkle with caster sugar to serve
