Ingredients
12 servings
1 BoxYellow Cake Mix
Vanilla, White, or Strawberry
0.75 CupSalted Butter
1 and 1/2 sticks, melted
Strawberry Pie Filling
8 ouncesWhipped Cream Cheese
Optional Toppings
Instructions
Step 1
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2
Step 2: Coat the 9 x 13 pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Step 3
Step 3: Dump two cans of strawberry pie filling into the pan and spread evenly with a spatula.
Step 4
Dollop 8 ounces of whipped cream cheese evenly over the top of the strawberry filling. I used a brick of cream cheese, which was still delicious, but the whipped is creamier and melts into the strawberry filling better than a denser brick.
Step 5
Next, sprinkle a whole box of DRY cake mix on top of the cherries. One package will cover the 9 x 13 pan. Pat the dry cake mix down with your fingers.
Step 6
Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the whole top of the dry cake mix.
Step 7
Bake the cake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees F or until golden brown and bubbly.
Step 8
Allow the dump cake to rest for at least 15 minutes before scooping. Serve each warm piece with an optional scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Adding fresh-cut strawberries on the side or top is another option.
