You may use dark brown sugar in lieu of light brown sugar. You may substitute any type of extract for vanilla (i.e. coconut, mint, almond, etc.). You may use any kind of flavored baking chip (chocolate, butterscotch, white, etc.). You may use any kind of nut, just make sure the pieces aren’t too big to immerse in the dough. Get creative!

1. Heat oven to 375.
Step 2
2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl; set aside.

3. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixing bowl until creamy.

4. Beat in the eggs.
Step 5
5. Beat in flour mixture, only until thoroughly mixed – do not over-beat.
Step 6
6. Stir in flavored baking chips, nuts, etc..
Step 7
7. Drop by rounded tablespoon or form into balls onto ungreased baking sheets.
Step 8
8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 9
9. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
