Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Step 2
In a skillet, brown cubed ham and set aside to cool.
Step 3
In a large mixing bowl, add Miss Lena's Buttermilk biscuit mix, grated butter, cheese, chives, and cubed ham and mix well until combined.
Step 4
Make a well in the middle of the bowl and add buttermilk.
Step 5
Fold biscuit mix and buttermilk together until a dough is formed.
Step 6
On a floured surface, roll out biscuit dough with a floured rolling pin.
Step 7
Fold dough three times and then roll out the dough again. Repeat this step two more times for fluffy and tall biscuits.
Step 8
Using a biscuit cutter, cut out biscuit rounds and place into a greased cast iron skillet.
Step 9
Brush on an egg wash and then top with a bit of shredded cheese.
Step 10
Bake biscuits for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 11
Once out the oven, brush on melted butter. Enjoy!
