Mom loved to make the easy and delicious cake for special occasions or just any fall day for a treat.
She even submitted it to the Gower School PTO cookbook where many other people have been able to enjoy this delightful cake too!

Ingredients
16 servings
For the cake
0.5 Cvegetable oil
2 cflour
2 Cwhite sugar
2 tspbaking soda
2eggs
1 Tbspvanilla extract
2 tspcinnamon
salt
½ cwalnuts
4 Capples
diced
For the frosting
Instructions
Step 1
Mix oil, eggs and vanilla together.
Then, add dry ingredients and mix to combine.
Stir in apples and nuts.
Note: batter will be thick
Step 2
Grease a 9x13 cake pan and spread batter into pan.
Step 3
Bake for 45 minutes. Toothpick should come out clean in center of cake.
For the frosting
Step 4
Using an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese and butter together. Add vanilla powdered sugar and salt and continue to beat until smooth.
If frosting is too thick, you can add a small amount of milk to thin it out a little.
Step 5
Once the cake is cooled completely, spread frosting on top of cake. Enjoy!
