Mushroom Gravy

Time to change up the boring traditional gravy with mushroom gravy. Trust me it is absolutely amazing. My mother used to make this and it was so yummy so I am sharing it with you all as well, to help with some holiday dish ideas. You can use any mushroom your prefer but i think best is white button, cremini, or portobello. For my recipe i use a mix.

Instructions

Step 1
1. Slice mushrooms and place in a mixing bowl

2. Season with olive oil, salt and pepper

3. In a pan melt butter and add minced garlic, shallots, and the mushroom mix.

4. Sauté on high heat for approximately 2 minutes.

5. Remove and reserve

6. Lower the heat on the pan and add butter

7. Once melted add flour and whisk until there is no clumps
Step 8
8. Add beef stock and let it reduce to desired consistency

9. Add back the mushrooms
Step 10
10. Season with salt and pepper to taste
Step 11
11. Serve over your favorite holiday dish like turkey or mash potatoes
