Ingredients

4 tablespoonsunsalted butter

¼ cupvegetable oil

½ cupwater

1 cupoat flour

1 cupgranulated sugar

¼ cupunsweetened cocoa powder
plus 2 tablespoons

¾ teaspoonbaking soda

1egg

¼ cupwhole milk

1 teaspoonvanilla extract

Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350.

Step 2
Melt the butter in the microwave. Add to the oil and water, mix until fully incorporated. Let cool slightly.

Step 3
Whisk together all dry ingredients.


Step 4
Whisk together egg, milk and vanilla.
Step 5
Add all ingredients together. Pour into a greased, lined cupcake pan. Bake for about 25 minutes. Cool completely before frosting.

Step 6
With a stand mixer or hand mixer, blend powdered sugar and butter for about 4 minutes

Step 7
Add in milk a teaspoon at a time until you reach the desired consistency. I used 1 3/4 tbsp.
