Step 1
Mix 3/4 cup sugar, half and half, food coloring, and salt in a pan. Cook until boiling

Mix remaining sugar, cornstarch in a bowl and add slowly to boiling mixture.

Add butter and vanilla and return to heat

vanilla1 teaspoon
Step 4
Cook until mixture thickens. Then add to pie pan. Top with nutmeg and butter slices

Bake @325 for 20 min
