Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

Core and thinly slice apples. Cut into small pieces

Add 2/3 brown sugar, salt, cornstarch, cinnamon, lemon juice and lemon rind. Pour mixture into pie crust.
Step 4
Cover with pie rim and bake for 10 minutes.

Prepare the topping: Mix remaining ingredients. Do not melt butter, instead chop into small pieces.
Step 6
Remove pie from oven and lower temperature to 350 F. Remove the pie rim and sprinkle the topping.
