This is my mom’s homemade chocolate cake mixed in with a friend’s chocolate frosting.

Ingredients

For the Cake
3 cupsflour
2 cupssugar
1 tspsalt
2 tspbaking soda
8 Tbspbaking cocoa powder
¾ cupoil
2 Tbspvinegar
2 tspvanilla extract
2 cupswater

For the Frosting

For the Cake
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 F
OvenPreheat
Step 2
Mix the dry and wet ingredients into separate bowls.
Step 3
Mix them together into a large bowl.
Step 4
Use a greased 9x13 pan to pour in the cake mix.
Step 5
Bake for 30-35 min, or until the center is fully cooked.
Step 6
Polk small holes throughout the cake and spread the frosting mix onto the cake.
Step 7
**OPTIONAL** I personally like to chill the cake after in the freezer (the cake won’t freeze).
For the Frosting
Step 8
Soften or partly melt the butter, then I add that with everything else.
