If you are following me on Instagram or Facebook, you already saw several pictures of it. People wanted to learn how to make it, so here it is. A special thing about this recipe is that it’s made with frozen blueberries so you can enjoy it all year round. So far I heard from different people including my husband that it is the best blueberry pie they’ve ever tried before. Now, you really want to try this pie, right? I hope you do. I will teach you how to make it step by step. You can see that it’s very easy and simple to make this fancy-looking pie. Let’s get started.

Instructions
Step 1
Get about 5 cups of frozen blueberries. Preheat the oven to 425 F.
Step 2
Put the frozen blueberries in a pot along with 5 Tbsp of cornstarch, 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp of lemon juice (optional), and ¼ tsp salt. Mix everything gently.
Step 3
Cook the blueberry mixture for about 15 minutes on medium-high. Occasionally stir it so that it will not burn to the bottom. After it starts to boil, you will see the filling gets thicker and thicker.
Step 4
In a large mixing bowl, add 2¼ cups all-purpose flour, ¾ cup salted butter, and ½ tsp salt. Mix the flour and other ingredients with a fork so that the butter will make crumbles.
Step 5
Slowly add 6-7 Tbsp of cold water to the flour and mix everything to knead the dough.
Step 6
Once the dough is formed, divide it into 2. Shape each piece into a ball. Roll out a dough ball with a rolling pin.
Step 7
This is how I measure mine. We will make a 9-inch pie, so obtain 1 9-inch pie dish. Put your pie dish upside down like this. Your dough should be about 1 inch bigger all around the pie dish.
Step 8
Transfer the pie crust to the pie dish. Trim the edge of the pie crust with scissors and crimp the rim with your fingertips and knuckles.
Step 9
By now, the pie filling will be done. Turn off the heat. Pour the hot pie filling into the pie crust.
Step 10
Chop 1 Tbsp worth of salted butter into little cubes and sprinkle them on top of the hot pie filling. This will help you weave the strips of pie crust for the lattice on top.
Step 11
Roll the other piece of the pie dough to about the same size as the first one. Move the rolled dough to wax paper and cut the dough into ½ inch strips with a pizza cutter.
Step 12
Weave the strips together. This is how I do it. Please check the video for this part.
Step 13
Melt a little bit of butter in some milk. I will use it to brush the pie crust. This will help you get a nicely golden brown crust on top.
Step 14
Put the pie in the preheated oven and bake it for about 30 minutes at 425 F. Depending on your oven, the baking time can vary.
Step 15
After 30 minutes, you will get this delicious and pretty looking blueberry pie.
