Instructions
Step 1
Squeeze citrus fruit through a strainer (to catch the seeds) and into a pitcher. Fill pitcher with water and refrigerate. (If you have one, you could juice the fruit!)
Step 2
Make simple syrup by boiling water and adding as much sugar as it will take. (Once cool, use a funnel to pour it into a container for the fridge (or add straight to citrus punch.)
Step 3
Pour punch over ice and add desired amount of sweetness.
Step 4
TEA: Add to iced tea if that’ll make you happy! Arnold Palmer is Half Lemonade, half tea so this would be great.
Step 5
I am not responsible for your fruit bill once you taste this! The kids will never think of kool-aid the same way once they taste this nicely sweetened!
Step 6
PEELS: 1) if you put them back in the pitcher, it makes it pretty! 2) if you put them in water, it’ll make it taste nice. 3) it’s always a good idea to zest/grate the peels then dry them for zest. (I separate the different “flavors” when I zest them so I can make lemon pepper, lime salt, and zest to add to my recipes.
