Chestnut and Cranberry Sausage Rolls

These festive sausage rolls are perfect for dinner, a quick snack or something to throw in the lunch box. If you like you can try sprinkling with sesame seeds for that extra special touch.

Instructions

Step 1
Pre heat the oven to 190C, gas 5

Step 2
Gently fry the onions in oil for 5-10 minutes, until they have softened, then place in a mixing bowl
Step 3
Add the rest of the ingredients except half the egg and the cranberries, then mix them all together. You can use a spoon but it's more fun to get stuck in with your hands.
Step 4
Lay out the the mixture on each half of the pastry, leaving a margin around the edge then sprinkle over the cranberries. Roll up tightly then cut into 2 cm slices.
Step 5
Place these on a greased baking tray and brush with the remaining egg.
Step 6
Bake in the oven for around 20 minutes, or until they're golden brown.
