The recipe doesn't say how many onions to add, unless I'm just missing it.

No, the directions say "start by chopping your onions" but never said how many to add. I'm guessing 2??

Bindi, there absolutely is a limit for onions in a recipe 😂😂 I am not a fan of onions, I only add them if I know their flavor or texture is integral. Otherwise I try to sub for onion powder whenever possible!!

It calls for two packages of onion soup mix, not regular onions.

I noticed that, but the directions use the singular, so I assume only one. The onion soup mix adds onion flavor as well, so I would also assume a small one.

I had a partially used packet of onion soup mix (not enough), so I used 2 medium-ish onions (or 1 large) + additional seasonings from the packet ingredients list. Came out great!
