I had to double the spices, and even then, it wasn't as flavorful as I hoped. I thought it was pretty good but my husband said it "was not his favorite".

Maybe it needed more salt? (1/8 teaspoon doesn't sound like much to me for the whole recipe) It should bring out the flavor of everything else, including any spices you add!
