Best Nashville chicken recipe I’ve made. Anyone who finds this bland didn’t follow the recipe. The “paste” for the chicken has 1 1/2 tbsp of cayenne pepper mixed into 1/2 cup of oil (plus other seasoning) which gives you a very spicy thickened oil to coat the chicken in. We like spicy food but I still reduced the cayenne to 1 tbsp and added a 1/2 tbsp of franks red hot seasoning. Even with the changes it was hottttt.
I had no issues with the breading staying on the chicken. The secret is to make sure you spray (oil) the air fryer and then spray the chicken. After you flip, spray the other side of the chicken.
Don’t burn the oil—- the brown sugar will burn easily if you don’t stir quickly.
