I used brown lentils because I got the recipe from Whisk first, and then watched the Tiktok and heard NOT to use brown. I was worried but it turned out fine! The lentils still have a bit of a crunch to them but nothing noticeable in the mix of everything. I also used ground sausage instead of taking it from the casings. It didn’t look like enough liquid, maybe because I had more sausage, so I added about an extra 1/2-3/4 cup of water and it turned out perfect.
