The cake itself is not very sweet, so don’t ease off on the last step, unless you like your coffee cake not sweet. Seems like a lot of icing sugar, but the cake can bear it. Found I needed more water than it called for.
Also, I baked mine in a 10x10 square, and it took a lot longer than 30 mins to cook in my convection oven. Also, don’t t be afraid to really giv’er when swirling the brown sugar/cinnamon mix on the surface, the batter is thick, and it won’t mix more than it should.
