Hands down the best red velvet cake recipe out there. I have made this for years ever since I was a kid. I will never make another red velvet cake unless it's this recipe.
Be wary of over mixing; your cake will be extremely fragile already, but over mixing will cause it to be crumbly straight out of the oven.
Do not skip the coffee. I use Folgers instant coffee (I make it with water, not milk), and it helps the taste so much.
I use parchment paper to get it out of the pan. No amount of letting it cool or greasing has allowed me to cake a cake out of the pan without it completely getting demolished 😅. I'm most likely doing something wrong, but I'm sticking to the parchment paper.
EDIT: I have finally discovered how to make it stop sticking 🥹🥹🥹 just drown the bottom in flour, it'll be okay.
