I made this dish similar to the crockpot recommendation above. Used a bit less dried parsley as my bottle was almost gone and about 1/4 cup brown sugar. I did up the bourbon to 1/2 cup also but then added about 1/2 - 3/4 cup broth as I felt it needed more liquid. The sauce was good, meat was fall apart tender (used round steak since it was crockpot) but if I did this again I think a healthy dose of cracked pepper is needed for flavor. I also tossed in a few zucchini and mushroom slices about 1 hour before serving.
