Black plums are required if you want the mixture to be purple. It also took me about 5 minutes to get one plum to be the right consistency. I needed to add a bit more milk so it wasn't too thick. It is good hot and cold. Sliced almonds on top are also a good addition. 8/10

The color is probably due to the type of plum. Japanese plums, especially ones with black skins, have a deep purple color. But they're apparently hard to grow, and not widely available, at least in my experience.

Hi, this is my recipe, thank you for trying! I didn't use did colouring but I did use a very dark purple plum that was red on the inside and I also kept the skin on. I'm glad you enjoyed!
