Latest update: I tried making it using the Vitamix blender because I know it is powerful enough to make nut butters so hummus should be a snap. Big mistake. The ingredients would just spin out to the side where the blades couldn’t reach them. As soon as you scraped them down, it would spin back out.
Finally admitted defeat and poured all ingredients into my food processor to finish. Unfortunately, because the early processing in the blender didn’t “cream” the tahini and lemon juice, there was just no getting to that creamy consistency. Still tasty but lesson learned…don’t use the blender unless you’re making a double batch. I think my former NutriBullet would have been better because I could shake the container while it was spinning.
PRIOR NOTES; Just made this for the 2nd time and I don’t remember following these steps before. It is AMAZING (when you follow directions…duh).
I think last time I just threw everything in the food processor and it was only so-so.
