The effort to tastiness ratio on this recipe is pretty high! It's juicy, packed with flavor, cheap to make, and easy. 
If you like Thai food, this marinade captures a lot of the best elements, even though the ingredient list is small. Great for having robust Thai flavors with minimal active time and ingredients.
My chicken did caramelize at the end, but obviously the skin is not super crisp like if you pan fried it. If that's your favorite part of chicken thighs, this might not be your favorite, but to me the flavor was well worth it! We'll definitely make again.
