Think the instructions are a bit lacking. But here's how I tweaked the recipe. Definitely grease your pan before you layer the first row of potatoes. I added the onions to the hamburger while browning, instead of the soup mixture and added a drizzle of Worcestershire sauce salt and pepper and a little garlic powder - just to give the meat mixture more taste. Cooking time was about 50 minutes then add the cheese (which I did double) and bake until cheese is melted.
