1/3 tbsp of good quality rice or rice wine vinegar ( per oerson) mixed with equal amounts of ( palm?) sugar, sesame oil and a tasty sambal like sambal badjak gives a deep delicious rather mild and sweet taste. Not spicy and sour at all? Perhaps experiment with different types of rice ( wine) vinegar, sugar and sambal? or use lime instead of the rice vinegar?
