Wasn’t my husband’s favorite, but still good. Used an instant pot (15 min for the chicken & sauce) to cook. Then thickened the sauce on the stove while I cut up the chicken on the side and made rice. I think adding some hoisin sauce would be a good idea next time round. It did taste like bbq chicken, though it has no bbq in it.
Or add lots of teriyaki sauce.
Edit: 2nd time making it
I added 1 tbsp of hoisin sauce and extra garlic which seemed to help add more of a tang to it. Curious if adding carrots or more onions would help.
