First time baking something this "complex" as I usually go for a bit easy ones. This was for my birthday. I made two cakes, and they turned perfect! Everyone loved them and got many questions about the recipe. I made the liqueur thingy because I couldn't find it by mixing the syrup from the cherries and a bit of vodka. Worked fine for me! Definitely would make it again. But I think it was a tiny bit too sweet for my taste but still amazing!!
