I liked the spices and the taste. I diverged from the recipe a bit. For some reason I wanted to roast the vegetables minus the chickpeas. I ended up blending the tomatoes, sauce, with all the vegetables. It made for a thick sauce with only the chickpeas and rice as the non creamy texture. I suppose one could vary the vegetables between the sauce and separate ingredients.
My wife liked it too but always seems to want more salt and heat. To me those are easy ingredients to add to taste.
PS: I added yellow sweet potato on top because I had it on hand. Not the best presentation but I was thinking I could use it as a thickener if needed. I'm not sure if that was a good idea but we do like sweet potatoes.
