I am pretty sure the bad flavor was from the fire roasted tomatoes, but the entire dish smelled like manure, like actual farmland manure. I will probably try again with non fire roasted tomatoes, because I do like everything else in this recipe. Yes, the can of tomatoes was just purchased a couple days ago and well within its expiration date
