I followed the recipe precisely. I watched my temps closely. It took a long time, being so precise and careful. I used so many ingredients, had lots of dirty pans and bowls, and it was so disappointing. Even though I was so careful, my results were gross:

My custard, which I removed the second it reached the correct temperature, had already curldled.
