Like others mentioned, it wasn't spicy enough but I added a few spoons of gochujang paste to give it a bit more kick.
Also I was in a bit of a rush so did the saute in the instant pot then after adding the the sweet potato spices, lentils and stock, I pressure cooked for 10 mins before reducing, and simmering the remaining ingredients. It was delicious. Will definitely try original instruction next time to compare.
