I've yet to make this. The blog with the instructions was taken down! I found the blogger's IG page with the post, however, that directed me to the blog for the instructions. I snooped around more and found another post for chana masala with the instructions buried in the comments. They're similar recipes so I'm hoping the instructions will be similar. (I'm doing this so I have the instructions ready somewhere when I attempt this this week):
Dice the onions and tomatoes. Crush the ginger and garlic.
Sauté the onions, ginger and garlic in a bit of olive oil for 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes with a bit more water. Add the powdered spices (everything apart from cumin seeds, black pepper corns, cinnamon stick and cloves). Sauté until tomatoes melt.
Now pour everything into a blender and whizz until smooth. Pour back into the pot.
Add the rest of the spices and diced green chilies. Add the drained chickpeas and approximately 2 cups of water (chickpeas should be covered with sauce).
Simmer with the lid on for 20-25 minutes.
