I used bacon grease to fry, milk and egg for soak (left over from another recipe). I only needed one 1lb, not 2 personally
It isn't bad. It has been a long time since I had this last. My grandma would make it so my recollection of from being a youth. I liked it a little bit then.
Now, I would say having the mashed potatoes helps, and even if I had some gravy it would make it even better.
